Als Neophobie wird die Angst vor Neuem, unbekannten Situationen oder neuartigen Dingen bezeichnet. Dies zeigt sich auch bei Lebensmitteln. Kinder leiden oft an einer abgeschwächten Form und lehnen neue oder unbekannte Lebensmittel ab.
Je stärker die Neophobie, desto weniger wird zu Obst, Gemüse und Fleisch gegriffen, während der Konsum süßer und fettiger Lebensmittel unabhängig davon bleibt. Neophobie nimmt bei den Fünf- bis Achtjährigen mit zunehmenden Alter wieder ab.

他方、新しいことには何でも興味、関心を惹かれる人もいますよね。好奇心旺盛な人！ Fear は関係ない！？ と言いたいが如くですね。
普通の人には 恐怖心 が常に伴っているとおもわれますが、、その恐怖心とどのように付き合うか、ですね。
我が家の、一番下の子も野菜を嫌うのですよね。勧めても手（箸？ フォーク？）を付けません。
